Fire or chill?
Which describes your current relationship with Jesus? Maybe I should be more specific. Does your love for Jesus exude out of you? Does your love and passion for Jesus flow into everything you do? Do you live and act with an urgency?
Or is your relationship with Jesus “chill”? Coming to church and all is good, but is that as far is it goes?
The reason I ask is simple. For many, when we think of Jesus we have this image that Jesus is a cool, chill guy. He did some awesome things like turning a bunch of water into wine, walked on water, etc. As cool as those things are we should remember Jesus also made a whip and overturned tables. Jesus displayed courage as he got between a group of men and adulteress who was about to be stoned to death. Jesus also said “I came not to bring peace, but a sword.”
Point is, Jesus lived life with an urgent passion. He was on fire. He knew His purpose and stayed on task so that in all things God would be glorified and our relationship with God would be restored.
I’m not suggesting you need to stand on a soapbox at work and proclaim the gospel. However, you should live the life that God has given you with an urgent passion so God may be glorified in everything you do. It’s not easy, but that’s life with Christ.
