Who is Jesus? A Lenten Journey through John – Day 9

Read John 6:1-21
In this passage, Jesus presents the disciples with an impossible situation: feed over 5000 people. A small boy offers all he has: 2 fish and 5 loaves of bread. Jesus looked up to Heaven and gave thanks. He took what the boy had and multiplied it to satisfy the crowd’s hunger. The disciples distributed the food and came back with 12 baskets of abundant overflow. Little was given, but God made it big.
When God puts a situation in front of us we deem to be beyond our ability, like Jesus, look to Heaven. God gives us what we have to use, and put the rest in Jesus’ hands. He can make our little, big.
Prayer
Loving Father, thank you for showing us that through your perfect Son, Jesus, all things are possible.  We are grateful for the opportunities you give us to learn this simple truth. Help us to see the next opportunity to grow closer to you. In Jesus’ Holy Name.  Amen.
